Piaget Cognitive Development- Birth to 2 y/o
Sensorimotor stage
First stage of child’s mental development which mainly involves sensations and motor skills such as hearing, seeing, feeling, tasting, moving, manipulating, biting, chewing, and so on.
Piaget Cognitive Development- 2 to 7 y/o
Preoperational stage
Children use their mental ability to represent events and objects in a various ways like using symbols, gestures and communication, and so on thus their logical reasoning are not yet organized or developed
Piaget Cognitive Development- 7 to 11 y/o
Concrete-Operational Stage
Child becomes more stable, think operationally and use logical reasoning rather than intuitive thought.
Piaget Cognitive Development- 11 y/o through adulthood
Formal-Operational thought
Become more systematic and reasonable, they can’t only reason of tangible objects and events but also they possess capability of reasoning and thinking in more abstract, hypothetical and idealistic ways
