Hints for autosomal pedigree
Anytime parents don’t have a trait but the child does, the parents are carriers
When one of the parents has a trait but the child doesn’t, the child is a carrier
It’s a autosomal trait because the males and females are affected roughly equal
What is a pedigree?
A chart that shows relationships within a family that is used to show inheritance of traits
Hits for sex linked pedigree
If a female has 3 or more sons that do not have a sex linked trait, she is very likely to be homozygous dominant
What do squares and circles indicate
Squares are male
Circles indicates females
What do shaded shapes represent
That they express a trait
What do half shaded shape represent
The child is heterozygous
What do horizontal lines represent
Marriage
What’s vertical lines represent
Siblings
