What are the traits of autosomal dominant inheritance?
• appear equally in males and females
• unaffected persons do not transmit the trait
• affected persons have atleast one affected parent
What are the traits of autosomal recessive inheritance?
• autosomal recessive traits usually appear equally in males and females
• tends to skip generations
• more likely to appear among progeny of related parents
What are the traits of x linked dominant inheritance?
• dont skip generations
• affected males pass to all daughters and none to sons
• affected females (if het) pass trait to half their sons and half their daughters
What are the traits of x linked recessive inheritance?
• an affected male does not pass trait to sons but can pass to carrier daughter who has affected son
• appear more frequently in males
What are traits of y linked inheritance?
• appear only in males
• all male offspring of an affected male are affected
