Contra-indications to Breastfeeding
A
Mother has HIV, Hep B, or Tuberculosis Mother on Chemotherapy CMV infection in mother infant has galactosemia medications that mother is taking: Neuroleptics, Antidepressants, some antibiotics, hyperthyroid/hypothyroid medications etc.

How frequent initial breast feeding should be

Initially feedings should be every 2-3 hours, therefore maternal fatigue is a major counterproductive force to establishing successful breastfeeding
