Pectoralis Major
O: Clavicular head : medial clavicle
Sternocostal head: Sternum and costal cartilidge of ribs 2-6 (sometimes 7)
I: Greater tubercle and lateral lip of intertubercular groove of the humerus
A: Flexion, adduction, medial rotation of the humerus
N: medial and lateral pectoral nerve
Pectoralis Minor
O: Ribs 2-5 (sometimes 3-5 or 2-4) near costal cartilages
I: Coracoid process of scapula
A: Abduction & downward rotations of scapula; assists in elevation of ribs when pectoral griddle is fixed
N: Medial pectoral nerve
Subclavius
O: 1st rib
I: Subclavian groove of clavicle
A: Depress clavicle
N: subclavian nerve
Serratus anterior
O: Ribs 1-8 (sometimes 9)
I: medial border and inferior angle of scapula
A: Abduction & upward rotation of scapula (protraction))
N: Long thoracic nerve
Serratus Posterior SUPERIOR
O: Ligamentum nuchae & spinous processes of C7-T3 vertebrae
I: Superior border of ribs 2 to 4
A: Elevation of ribs
N: 2-5 intercostal nerve
Serratus posterior INFERIOR
O: Spinous processes or T11-L2 vertebrae
I: Inferior border of ribs 8-12 near their angles
A: Depression of ribs
N: 9-12 thoracic spinal nerve
