What is Poll Tax?
A tax that is charged to everyone at a fixed rate, regardless of how much money someone earns.
What was the Statute of Labourers?
The Black Death of 1348-49 killed half the population in England. Due to this workers realised they could demand more wages. Landowners were not happy with this and demanded the government do something. in 1351 the government ordered that wages be reduced back to same as before the Black Death.
Why did the peasants revolt?
They were angry about low pay and the introduction of poll tax.
