  • bring freedom to country, overthrow cruel dictator, stop genocide
    -self defence, defending your freedom of religion
    -may protect trees crops and animals in the long run
    -just war, declared by authority
    -lesser jihad, holy war is acceptable in the defence of Islam “Whoever fights in the cause of God, then gets killed, or attains victory, we will surely grant him a great recompense.”
    Qur’an 4:74

  • religions teach war is evil, to be avoided, kills innocent civilians, ruins environment
  • religions teach followers to strive for peace, hypocritical to fight
  • disputes settled other ways, eg. négociation
  • war motives include green, power, land not what religions teach
  • religions teach forgiveness, MLK overcame injustice in a peaceful way
  • sanctity of life
  • 10 commandments “thou shalt not kill” & “love thy neighbour”
  • fundamental beliefs in which Christianity was built on are forgiveness and kindness, war goes against these things and against Gods word (bible)
