PE tidbits Flashcards

1
Q

Bainbridge reflex

A

thought to be component of RSA – inspiration cause HR to speed up d/t vagal tone decrease as LA filling pressure increases and negative thoracic pressure increases (Bainbridge = increase in LA pressure decreases vagal tone to increase HR?) – Increase in venous return accelerates HR. (Stretch of SA node  sinus tachycardia per Katz)
