Internal rate of return
The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is the annualized rate of return generated by an investment. 15 -25%
Distribution to paid in
Measures the amount of capital returned to investors relative to the amount of capital they have contributed.
Multiple on Invested Capital
Measures the total return on an investment, expressed as a multiple of the original investment.
Paid-In Capital
This refers to the actual amount of capital that has been contributed by investors to date. The difference between committed and paid-in capital reflects how much capital the fund has yet to call from its investors.
Carried Interest (Carry)
This is the share of the profits that the fund managers receive, typically around 20%, after the fund has returned the invested capital
Preferred Return (Hurdle Rate)
Minimum rate of return that the fund must achieve before the general partners (GPs) are entitled to receive their share of carried interest.
