what does the cranium protect?
brain
what type of bone is the femur?
long bone
what type of bone is the vertebrae?
irregular bone
whats the longest bone in the body?
femur
5 main roles of the skeleton?
shape, blood production? , protection, allow movement in joints, support body in up right position?
there is a ____ vena cava and a _____ vena cava.
inferior and superior
what does P.B.S.M.S stand for
protection ,blood prodcution , shapes , movement , store
where are hinge joints?
knee , elbow

where are pivot joints?
neck
where are condyloid joints?
wrist
where is the saddle joint?
thumb
what is in a joint?
cartilage, bone, ligament, synovial fluid, synovial membrane,
what is flexion?
reducing angle at joint - bending knee
what is extension?
increasing the angle at the joint.
whats adduction?
moving body part to centre of body.
what is abduction?
moving body part away from body
whats concentric contraction?
Concentric contraction occurs when the muscle shortens
whats eecentric contraction?
An eccentric contraction is the motion of an active muscle while it is lengthening under load
what is isotonic?
tension remains the same, whilst the muscle’s length changes
what is isometric?
In an isometric muscle contraction, the muscle fires (or activates with a force and tension) but there is no movement at a joint.
after 02 is in the lungs it goes to the. . . . .
left atria via the pulmanory artery
when 02 is in the bicuspid valve it……
out the left ventricle via aorta.
what is gaseous exchange?
the elimination of co2 from the bloodstream to the lungs.
