The components of a sports activity session
- Warm up
- Main activity
- Cool down
Warm up
A warm up activity will set the pace for the session and help minimise the risk of injury
Main activity
Tell the group the aims,objectives and expected outcomes, demonstrate the technique and allow time for practice
Cool down
A cool down gives the group the chance to recover from the session and helps bring their body and mind back to a resting state
Resources
The equipment needed,space required and time allowed for your session
Participants
Consider how many people,their age,gender and ability
Demonstrating skills and qualities,and fulfilling responsibilities
It is important that you exhibit the attributes of a sports leader for your session to be successful
Health and safety
A leader must make sure that their group is safe while participating in physical activity
Aims,objectives and expected outcomes
Every session should have these to be measurable and achievable
Measuring success
Make sure you set targets for yourself so that when the session is over you have something to measure
Feedback
Information about a person’s performance in a task which is used as a basis for improvement

Analyse
Examine something methodically and in detail in order to explain and interpret it
