PD, emf & S.I base units Flashcards

1
Q

What is emf

A
  • Electromotive force is the energy on the charge carriers, provided by the cell or battery, transferring any other forms of energy into electrical.
  • So that then as the charge carries move through the circuit, the electrical energy is transferred into other forms.

Q

define the volt

A

One volt is the potential difference across a component when 1J of energy is transferred per unit of charge passing through the component. 1V is 1J of energy transferred per coulomb of charge.
