A
- facilitates communication between operator, technician and patient
- occlusion and aesthetics checked before restoration
- construction of putty or vacuum formed matrix for build ups

A
- canines so that canine guidance is established
- canines should have centric stops
- canines should have adequate length so that anterior incisors can be waxed up with no occlusal interference
