what is PCR?
A
polymerase chain reaction is an enzyme based method to sepecifically amplify segments of DNA using a thermal DNA polymerase in a cyclical process.

why is PCR known as a chain reaction?
A
since we start off with one double stranded of dna and as pcr continues we get an exponential inncrease in the DNA molecules produced from a single dna.
