What heat setting should the heat press be set to and for how long?
375° and for 15 minutes (Make sure to fill the yellow water tray)
What is the first thing you should do to your copper board BEFORE heat pressing it with the foil pattern?
File the copper board and use steel wool to clean it.
How long should I heat press my copper board?
What should I do after it is done?
Heat press for 60 seconds
Then use needle nose pliers to place in the yellow water tray, and rub ink. Peel the plastic and dry
What are Pads? What are Trace Lines?
Pads are the circles that are used to placed components and Trace Lines are what connect components.
What are the two different sizes of drill bits that are used?
5-5 - Used for Regular Pads
#60 - I.C. Pads
What chemical do we put our boards in to remove copper?
We put our boards in ammonia persulphate. Pre-heat for 15 to 20 minutes
Start with 15 min, check ever 5 min after that.
What should the solder look like on my board?
Smooth, Shiny, Covers the Copper
What is a DMM?
a DMM is a Digital Multimeter
What is Polarity?
It is the positive and negative
What are Breaks?
Breaks are when there are gaps in your trace lines.
What are Bridges?
Bridges are when pads or lines are connecting to other components
How do we check for bridges and breaks?
using continuity function of the DMM
