Ground A/C, pre power check, apply power, no maintainers on top of A/C, no one on ladders around the A/C.
What are the proper procedures for a fuel spill?
Stop fueling and secure power immediately, inform maint control spill of spill (FLC or runner ) use spill kit to contain and clean up spill. Prevent fuel from going to drains and dispose of fuel soaked materials properly.
What PPE do you use to take proper fuel samples?
Splash proof goggles, apron and rubber gloves (chemical resistance).
How do you take fuel samples?
Drain one quarts, if sample is bad keep first sample, drain one gallon, then take another sample. If still bad take both sample to QA and maint control. Then properly dispose the fuel samples.
Which four types of contaminations do you check for in fuel sampling?
Particulate matter, mixed fuel, micro-organisms, water (both free and standing water)
Who are the four people authorized to check fuel samples?
Work center supervisor, QAR, 110 CDI, Qualified Naval Aircrewman.
