Engine Flameout

A

Indications - Loss of power, ITT below 400 C, Ng decreasing below 80% (70% in PMS MAN)

  1. Throttle - IDLE
  2. Ignition - IGN
  3. Attitude - Minimise slip and AOA
  4. Airspeed - 140 KIAS
  5. Engine indications - Monitor

If normal engine indications not restored:
EO2 will last typically for less than 5 min
6. EO2 - Pull (If above 10000ft and monitor contents)
7. OXYGEN - OFF
8. Throttle - FUEL OFF
9. Gliding Checks

If normal engine indications restored:

  1. Throttle - Minimum practical
  2. Aircraft - Land as soon as possible

Engine failure after take-off

A

Anti-skid is INOP after EMER LDG GR handle has been operated

If unable to reach landing area:
1. EJECT

If runway avail:

  1. Throttle - FUEL OFF (to feather propeller)
  2. Landing gear handle - DN
  3. EMER LDG GR handle - Pull
  4. Flaps - A/R
  5. Radio - Mayday call
  6. FUEL HYD CUTOFF - Pull

When a/c has stopped:
8. BATT 1 and BATT 2 - OFF

Engine fire on the ground

A

With BATTs and GENs off anti-skid is not available, use wheel brakes with care

  1. ACS SHUT OFF - Pull
  2. Throttle - FUEL OFF
  3. FUEL HYD CUTOFF - Pull
  4. Radio - Mayday call
  5. BATTs and GENs - All OFF
  6. Brakes - A/R
  7. Emergency egress on the ground - Carry Out

Smoke or fumes in the cockpit

A

EO2 will last typically for less than 5 minutes

  1. EO2 - Pull, monitor contents
  2. ACS SHUT OFF - Pull
  3. CABIN PRESS - RAM

If fumes continue:
4. GEN 1 and GEN 2 - OFF

If fumes still continue:

  1. BTC switch - ISOL
  2. GEN 1 - On
  3. BATT 1 and BATT 2 - OFF

If fumes still continue, consider the following actions according to the severity of the smoke/fumes and the aircraft flight conditions:
8. GEN 1 - OFF

NOTE: The SFD will be the only remaining functional electrical service. It will operate for at least 30 minutes on a fully charged emergency battery. NAV 1 will not operate

  1. Mask - On
  2. Visor - Down
  3. Miniature Detonator Cord handle - Pull

A

EO2 will last typically for less than 5 mins

  1. EO2 - Pull, monitor contents
  2. ACS SHUT OFF - Pull
  3. Throttle - Minimum Practicable
  4. PMS - Man (PMS caption ON)
  5. Engine - Check for signs of fire

If fire confirmed:

  1. Throttle - FUEL OFF
  2. FUEL HYD CUTOFF - Pull
  3. Fuel pumps - OFF
  4. CABIN PRESS - PRESS DUMP
  5. BATT 1 - OFF
  6. GEN 1 and GEN 2 - OFF
  7. Radio - Mayday call
  8. Transponder - 7700
  9. Gliding checks

If fire goes out or is not confirmed:
15. Land as soon as possible; using minimum power

If fire persists:
EJECT
