solid lines
A
- tell you where the edge of the road is
- can’t cross over this
- line angled inside shows that the upcoming road is narrowing
- separate lanes of traffic that moves in the same direction

solid yellow lines
A
- can’t cross
- separates traffic that moves in the opposite direction

one broken line
A
can pass other vehicles or switch lines

solid line with a broken line too
A
- on side with solid line, you can’t pass vehicles or switch lanes unless turning into a driveway
- on side with broken line, you can switch lanes and pass

double solid lines
A
you cannot change lanes or pass vehicles except when leaving a highway or turning left

one solid line
A
can pass or change lanes only when conditions make it necessary

arrows
A
- shows which direction you are going in what lane you’re in
- if you have to switch lanes, do so before the solid line comes up to separate the lanes

diamond symbol
A
- indicates reserved lanes for buses, carpools, bikes, etc.
- cannot use or enter these lanes unless you are in one of these special vehicles
