What does GIS stand for?
Geographical information system.
What is GIS
It’s a digital way of analysing maps of crime in a specific place.
What can you do with layers?
You can find information for whatever you want to specify such as a date or type of crime layer.
What are the 2 types of data?
Vector and raster.
What is raster data?
It is shown as pixels and usually for the background map.
What is vector data?
It is data made of points which can be joined to form lines, it is used for map features on top of the background.
What are the five components of GIS

How can you describe things in data response questions in a test?
With directions on where it is, how many crimes there are, are they in groups?,overall trend, how have they been spread across the map? Remember TEA.
Which goes first latitude or longitude?
It always starts with latitude.
