Countries that Japan targeted for cheap labour in Eastern Asia. For example, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore.

What is the advantage of outsourcing manufacturing to these Asian Tigers?
A
They are quite well developed
Quite well educated
Cultural tradition that loves education and achievement
Good geographical location
Less rigid laws on labour, taxation and pollution.

What happened in Korea as they developed?
A
The Korean chaebols developed. They were helped by the government and now these are very influential in Korea.
