Deadly Force
Force that is likely to cause or that a person knows or should know would create a substantial risk of causing death, serious bodily harm, or injury.
Use of Force
using the minimum amount of force to gain compliance, complete and apprehension, or neutralize a threat.

Probable cause
The facts and circumstances which would lead a reasonable and prudent person to believe that a crime has, is, or will be committed and that evidence of that crime exists in a specific location.
Reasonable Suspicion
Knowledge sufficient enough to induce an ordinary, prudent, and cautious person, under circumstances, to believe that criminal activity is at hand.

Deadly Force triangle
Opportunity: within range to cause death or serious bodily harm
Capability: having the means to inflict death or serious bodily harm
Intent: physical, verbal, or mental cues to show a willingness to inflict death or serious bodily harm.
Serious Bodily harm
Bodily harm or injury that involves a substantial risk of death, extreme physical pain, protracted and obvious disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of a bodily function, organ, or mental faculty.
Due regard
A reasonable and prudent person acting in a similar or same manner under the similar or same circumstances.
4 Firearm safety rules
- Treat every weapon as if it were loaded
- Never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot.
- Keep your finger straight and along the receiver until ready to fire.
- Keep your weapon on safe until you are ready to fire.
Responsibilities of Patrol Supervisor
a. Schedule work assignments of personnel in an equitable manner.
b. Review all reports, tickets and other documents generated by their watch.
c. Coordinate and schedule leave requests. Fa
d. Document and initial all personnel actions within their patrol section.
e. Responsible for all logs in the office.
f. Pass information located in the pass down log to their personnel.
g. Responsible for the completion of the Desk Journal.
h. Ensure RAMs are completed as scheduled and inputted into MILTRAMS. Ensure the completed RAM sheets are turned over to the ATO weekly.
i. Ensure incidents are reported IAW Enclosure 2.
How often are post inspections conducted? What are you inspecting?
Post inspections are conducted twice per shift. Watch Commander/ Patrol Supervisors shall inspect each gate/post during each watch to ensure all personnel are in proper uniform and performing their duties properly. Watch Commanders/Patrol Supervisors shall frequently check every zone/post and gate during the watch to ensure NSF are familiar with instructions, special orders, etc.
Jurisdictional limits of JEBLCFS and NSF
Landside NSF authority starts and stops at the blue line. Harbor NSF starts at the waterline and ends at the line of demarcation.
What are RAMS and where can the folder be found? Who puts this out in guardmount?
RAMS are random antiterrorism measures, the RAM folder can be found in the watch commander binder for each designated shift. During Guard mount, depending on the location, will be put out by the Watch Commander or Patrol Supervisor.
