Diagnose the Patient:
Patient has Involuntary jerking or writhing movements, muscle problems, slow or abnormal eye movements, impaired gait, posture, and balance, difficulty with speech and swallowing.
Huntington’s Disease
Diagnose patient
Patient has Tremor, slowed movement (bradykinesia), rigid muscles, impaired posture and balance, loss of automatic movements, speech changes, writing changes.
Parkinson’s Disease
Diagnose the Patient:
Patient has: Memory loss, confusion, difficulty with language, disorientation, mood and behavior changes, difficulty in planning and performing familiar tasks.
Alzheimer’s Disease
Diagnose the Patient:
Patient has: Mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs, changes in sleep, energy, activity levels, behavior, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks.
Bipolar Disorder
Diagnose the Patient:
Numbness or weakness, electric-shock sensations, tremor, lack of coordination, vision problems, slurred speech, fatigue, dizziness.
Multiple Sclerosis
Diagnose the Patient:
Patient has: Delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, extremely disorganized or abnormal motor behavior, negative symptoms (reduced ability to function normally).
Schizophrenia
Diagnose the Patient:
Challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, unique strengths and differences.
Autism
Diagnose the Patient:
Seizures, temporary confusion, staring spells, uncontrollable jerking movements, loss of consciousness or awareness, psychic symptoms.
Epilepsy
Diagnose the Patient:
Sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body, confusion, trouble speaking, vision problems, difficulty walking, severe headache.
Stroke
Diagnose the Patient:
Excessive daytime sleepiness, sudden loss of muscle tone (cataplexy), sleep paralysis, hallucinations.
Narcolepsy
Diagnose the Patient:
Muscle weakness, difficulty speaking, swallowing, and breathing, muscle cramps, twitching, cognitive and behavioral changes.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
Diagnose the Patient:
Severe memory loss, confabulation, difficulty learning new information, lack of insight, apathy.
Korsakoff’s Syndrome
Diagnose the Patient:
Intense fear or anxiety triggered by a specific object or situation, avoidance behavior, physical symptoms like sweating, trembling, rapid heartbeat.
Phobia
Diagnose the Patient:
Persistent sadness, loss of interest, changes in appetite and sleep, fatigue, feelings of worthlessness, difficulty concentrating, thoughts of death or suicide.
Major Depression
Diagnose the Patient:
Recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive behaviors (compulsions), significant distress or impairment.
