Paths to Moksha Flashcards
Bhakti Yoga
hakti yoga is the path of devotion, the method of attaining God through love and the loving recollection of God. Most religions emphasize this spiritual path because it is the most natural. As with other yogas, the goal of the bhakta, the devotee of God, is to attain God-realization also known as oneness with the Divine.
Jnana Yoga
Jnana yoga , also known as the jnana marga, is one of the three classical paths for moksha in Hinduism, which emphasizes the “path of knowledge”, also known as the “path of self-realization”.
Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga suggests the tool of meditation: slowing down the chaos of the mind so much that, for an extended period of time, there is only one continuous thought. This leads to total absorption in the nature of reality, known as Samadhi, although often it takes a long time and dedicated practice (abhyasa).2
Karma Yoga
According to Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, Karma yoga is the spiritual practice of “selfless action performed for the benefit of others”. Karma yoga is a path to reach moksha (spiritual liberation) through work.
