What is Geographic atrophy?
A
Geographic atrophy is a chronic progressive condition that tends to occur in the late stage of AMD. In this condition, the pigmented retinal cells die, resulting in patches that look different from the rest.

What is choroidal neovascularisation?
A
new vessels grow from choriocapillaris into subretinal space. They leak and lead to fluid or blood below retina. As disease progresses it extends into the OPL and cystic lesions form.
