What is Hirschsprung’s disease?
A
It’s a common cause of lower GI bowel obstruction in neonates, commonly called “congenital megacolon.”

What is ileus? And what are the two types of ileus?
A
it is the cessation (stoppage) of peristalsis. The two types are mechanical (caused by physical obstruction like a tumor) and paralytic/adynamic (caused by infection).
