Radiculopathy
inflammation of the nerve root associated with the spinal column
compression
pressure applied to nerve root and the patient experiences tingling, numbness, weakness
Cervical Radiculopathy
experience pain radiating down the lower leg
Cerebrovascular Disease
abnormality of the cerebrum cause by disorders of the blood vessels in the brain. Most associated with a stroke
Ishemic stroke
narrowing of the arteries of the brain, lack of O2
intracerebral hemorrhage
sudden rupture of an artery within the brain
subarachnoid hemorrhage
blood is released into the space surrounding the brain
Transient Ischemic attack
stroke symptoms that resolve within 24 hours
gran mal seizure
the entire body becomes rigid and there is uncontrolled jerking caused by alternate muscle contraction and relaxation
multiple sclerosis
progressive degenerative disease of the CNS and characterized by inflammation, hardening and loss of myelin throughout spinal cord and brain
Alzheimers
causes memory loss and mental deterioration, plaques develop in the cerebral cortex and disrupt signals
psychosis
severe loss of contact with reality
neurosis
emotion experiences in past and overwhelms present emotions. Triggers distress and anxiety
