Stretching Kick
This kick is used for a target directly in front of you. It can be used to strike a low, middle, or high target area. The striking surface is the ball of your foot.

- Assume a forward stance.
- Chamber the front leg up by lifting the leg high and bending the knee to a 90-degree angle.
- Point your foot and pull your toes back.
- Snap your leg forward, striking with the ball of the foot.
What type of kicking technique is this?
Front kick
It can be done in a front leg or back leg snap.
Front kick
a. Assume a short front stance.
b. Lift your back leg in an arc, moving it from the inside to the outside.
c. Strike with the outer edge of the foot at the top of the arc. Return to the starting position.
What type of kicking technique is this?
Out-in Kick
a. Assume a forward stance. Lift the front leg and chamber it by bending the knee 90 degrees. Keep the inner leg parallel to the floor. The foot should be pointed out. As the leg is chambered, the supporting foot should pivot 180 degrees.
b. Snap the leg from the knee so that the foot sweeps across in an arc.
c. Strike with the instep of the foot. Re-chamber the kicking leg. Return to the starting position.
What type of kicking technique is this?
Forty-Five Degree Kick
A. Assume a forward stance. Chamber the kicking leg up by lifting the leg high and cocking the knee to a 90-degree angle.
B. The foot is held tight, at a 90-degree angle to the shin.
C. As the leg is chambered, the supporting foot pivots 90 degrees.
D. Snap the kicking leg-out, striking with the face in the opposite direction of the kick.
