Caused by mutations in genes involved in lymphocyte maturation or function, or in innate immunity

failure of B cell maturation, absence of B cells and antibodies; caused by mutations in BTK, which encodes a tyrosine kinase required for maturation signals from the pre-B cell and B cell receptors
