Q

Which letters do you think are Paul and which are pseudo Paul? Why?

A

Paul writes situation-specific, convinces people of argument, talks about the details of travels, etc.

In order of pseudonymity:
II Thessalonians
Colossians
Ephesians
Pastoral Epistles (I & II Timothy, Titus)

Methods for authentication–
vocabulary used and percentages
style– less specific=not Pauline
theology–divine illumination already here (Col & Eph), from temporal category to spatial category–>future-ness of resurrection gone, Paul is elevated to Christ status, household codes seem out of place with Paul’s understanding of the imminent end of the world
