What is BJT?
A Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) is a semiconductor device with three layers—emitter, base, and collector.
Define Base of a Transistor?
The base of a transistor is the thin, It is the central layer between the emitter and collector that controls the flow of current between them.
Define Volatile Memory?
Volatile memory is a type of computer memory that requires power to retain data; when the power is turned off, all stored information is lost.
Write any 2 functions of Memory?
Following are the two key functions of memory in a computer:
Data Storage: Memory temporarily stores data.
Data Retrieval: Memory provides quick access to stored data.
How can we forward bias a PN junction?
A PN junction is forward biased by connecting the P-side to the positive terminal and the N-side to the negative terminal of a voltage source.
Enlist different configuration of transistor?
Following are the configuration of transistors:
- Common Base (CB)
- Common Emitter (CE)
- Common Collector (CC)
Define Amplification?
Amplification is the process of increasing the amplitude of a signal without altering its original shape.
Enlist the names of BJT terminals?
Following are the three terminals of a BJT are:
- Emitter

Define Transistor gain?
Transistor gain is the ratio of the output current to the input current in a transistor, typically denoted as β (beta) for current gain in a BJT.
define βdc?
βdc (also called DC current gain) is the ratio of the collector current (IC) to the base current (IB) in a BJT under DC conditions, and it is typically denoted as
βdc = IC / IB.
Define NPN transistor?
An NPN transistor is a type of bipolar junction transistor where a layer of P-type semiconductor is sandwiched between two N-type semiconductors.
Enlist the types of JFETs?
Following are the two main types of JFETs:
- N-Channel JFET

What is meant by special diode?
Special diode refers to diodes designed for specific functions beyond standard rectification like Zener and LED.
What are the Light Emitters?
Light emitters are devices that produce light when an electrical current passes through them.
What is a Dark Current?
Dark current is the leakage current that flows through a photosensitive device in complete darkness, caused by thermally generated charge carriers.
What is meant by TRIAC?
A TRIAC is a three-terminal semiconductor device used for controlling current flow in both directions
Define Silicon Control Switch (SCS)?
A Silicon Controlled Switch (SCS) is a four-layer, four-terminal semiconductor device used for switching and controlling electrical power.
