Symmetrical brown velvety plaques in axillae, neck and groin - often have an autoimmune disease

Ca channel blocker (nifedipine/amlodipine)

What are Herbedens nodes and what are the a sign of?
Swelling over the DIP joints - osteoarthritis
What does AKI after initiation of an ACE inhibitor in a young woman indicate?
Fibrous dysplasia

NSAIDs if acute
What is the treatment for acne rosacea?
Mild/mod = topical metronidazole Severe/resistant = oral tetracycline
What are the different types of MEN and what is the defining feature of each?
MEN1 = 3P's (parathyroid, pituitary and pancreatic tumours) MEN2 = pheochromocytoma, medullary thyroid cancer (prophylactic thyroidectomy)
2A = parathyroid hyperplasia 2B = marfanoid body features
How is croup managed?
All = oral dexamethasone (single dose) Emergency = IV adrenaline, high flow O2

Calcitonin (thyroid)
Calcium (parathyroid)
Catecholamines (pheochromocytoma)
What is the first and second line management of acromegaly (pituitary adenoma)?
Transsphenoidal surgery Somatostatin analogue (octreotide)

Dopamine agonist (bromocriptide) Transsphenoidal surgery
