What is the first level of OT intervention?
Adjunctive methods: preparatory (exercise, sensory stimuli, PAMs, splints) OTs evaluate performance components and innate ability.
What second level of OT Intervention?
Enabling activities. Not yet considered purposeful activities, but are steps toward performance of purposeful activities. (Like dressing using AE)
What is the third level of OT intervention?
Purposeful activities: evaluate performance areas (IADL, ADL) Can the person cook or work in a clinical setting?
What is the fourth level of OT intervention?
Occupations. The highest stage of treatment where th pt engages in natural occupations in their living environment.
What is a rehabilitation model?
Help the patient learn to work around and compensate for physical, cognitive, and perceptual limitations.
what is FIM Level 1
Total Assistance- client puts in less than 25% of the effort necessary to do a task
FIM level 2?
Max Assist. Client puts in between 25-50% of the task
FIM level 3?
Mod Assist. Client puts in between 50-75% of the effort.
FIM level 4?
Minimal Assist/ Contact Guard. Client puts forth 75% or more of the effort.
FIM level 5?
Supervision- Set-up. The person only needs someone to standby and cue or coax without physical contact so person can do the task.
FIM level 6?
Modified Independence. NO helper is needed. But may needs extra time or assisted device to complete task.
FIM level 7?
Total Independence.
What score would be given to a person who needs a helper to set up items or assistive devices?
5- Supervision/ set-up
How tall should a door threshold be for wheelchair accessibility?
1/2” and should be bevelled or remove if possible
