Shauzia has short dark brown hair and dresses like a boy to provide for her family. She used to go to school with Parvana. Shauzia is selfish, independant, and intelligent.
Describe Parvana’s father.
He was tall, bearded, and lost his leg. He was clever, intelligent, loving, and kind. He died at the start of the novel.

Hassan is toddler sized and is very cute. He is giggly and very curios.
Descibe Asif.
Asif has short dark brown hair, and he’s shorter than Parvana. He’s missing a leg and has many scars from when he lived with his Uncle, working for him in a fruit orchard. Asif is independant, grouchy, and kind.
Describe Leila.
Leila has blue eyes, pretty, has long and tangled hair, and is shorter than Asif. She’s caring, fast, and determined.

She’s crippled, has long tangled hair,and her hair is grey. She’s quiet, curios, and wise.
