Eyepiece
The part you look through-magnifies 10x
Inclination Joint
Joint-tilts the eyepiece for easy viewing-will also rotate for others to see.
Arm
Supports the body tube-makes great handle for carrying the microscope
Low Power Objective
Smallest objective magnifies 4x
Middle Objective
Magnifies 10x- middle sized lens
Course Adjustment Knob
Knob used for finding items under low power- moves the stage up and down
Fine Adjustment Knob
Used for high power focusing
Base
Supports the weight of the microscope
Body tube
Hollow tube that holds the lens
Objective Lenses
Name given to all three lenses
Nosepiece
Holds objective lenses and rotates to us the different lenses
High Power Objective
Magnifies 40x- longest objective
Stage Clips
Holds the slide in place
Stage
Place you put the slide for viewing
Iris Diaphragm
Round “holes” under the stage that’s controls how much light is permitted through to illuminate the specimen
