Draw Tube
Supports the entire microscope.
Base
For tilting of the microscope for convenience of the user.
Inclination Joint
Part above the base that supports the other parts.
Pillar
Curve/slanted part held when carrying a microscope.
Arm/Neck
Platform where the glass slide is placed.
Stage
Secure the specimen on the stage.
Stage Clips
Attached to the arms and bears the lenses.
Body Tube
Rotating disc where the objectives are attached.
Rotating Nosepiece
Lies atop the nosepiece that keeps dust from settling on the objectives.
Dust Shield
Used when using a scanner and low power objective lens.
Coarse Adjustment Knob
Used when using high power and oil immersion objective lenses.
Fine Adjustment Knob
Provides low magnification and a wide field of view for initial scanning.
Scanner
Lowest magnification if scanner is not presented.
Low Power Objective (LPO)
Provides the higher magnification.
High Power Objective (HPO)
