intransitive verb
expresses action (or tells something about the subject) without passing the action from a doer to a reciever
ex: …stayed inside - stayed = intransitive verb
transitive verb
an action verb that expresses an action directed toward a person or thing
ex: …mailed the package - mailed = transitive verb
coordinating conjunction
connect items of the same kind

concrete noun
names an object that can be perceived by the senses
ex: tulip, book, bottle
proper noun
names a particular person, place, thing, or idea
ex: Monday, Africa, Marie
collective noun
names a group
common noun
names any one of a group of persons, places, things, or ideas
ex: scientist, woman
