Common noun
name general people, places, things
concrete noun
nouns that are detectable by one or more of the five senses
proper noun
names specific people, places, things
conjunction
word that connects words, phrases, or clauses
abstract noun
noun that cannot be detected by any of the senses
preposition
a word that connects a noun to other words and shows the relationship between them (examples are “in” and “around”
pronoun
a word that substitutes for nouns or noun phrases and designates persons or things asked for, previously specified, or understood from the context
noun
a person, place, thing, or idea.
adjective
a word that describes or modifies another person or thing in the sentence.
verb
a word that conveys action, occurrence or existence
interjection
a word or phrase used to exclaim or protest or command. They sometimes stand by themselves, but not always.
adverb
word or phrase that describes or modifies a verb, adjective, or other adverb
