Person, place, thing.

Describe adjective and verbs.

Describes a noun.
Preposition
Tells time place position.
Interjection
Expresses strong emotion. ( hey, wow, ew)
Conjunction
A word that connects another word.
Common noun
Never capitalized, and names something in general. (park dog person)
Abstract noun
You cannot see, hear, smell, taste, touch. (love, hunger ,fear)
Proper noun
Are always capitalized, names, something specific, like the name of a person or place (Target, Harry Potter)
Concrete noun
Describe things that can be seen or touched.
Action verbs
Tells what the subject is doing
Linking verbs
Connects (or link) a subject to a noun or an adjective.
Helping verbs
They help the main verb express tense and voice.
