Verbs:A verb is a word that generally
conveys an action, an occurrence,
or a state of being Action Verbs: Show physical or mental action being performed by the subject (Ex: run, jump, fly) Linking Verbs: A word that links the subject with its predicate. The predicate is the part of the sentence that is stating something about the subject (Ex: They are cold.) Helping Verbs: Help the main verb (Ex: will gobble) A helping verb always stands in front of a main verb. For example, in the sentence, “Shyla can ride her sister’s bicycle, “ the helping verb can stands in front of ride, which is the main verb.
