Common Noun
Never capitalized. They name something general, not specific
Proper Nouns
They are always capitalized. They name something specific - like a name of a place, a brand, or a person
Abstract Nouns
A noun that you cannot see, hear, smell, taste, or touch.
Concrete Nouns
A Concrete Noun describe things that can be seen or touched.
Action Verbs
Tell what the subject is doing.
Linking Verbs [to be]
Connect (or link) a subject to a noun or an adjective.
Helping Verbs
Help the main verb express tense and voice.
