Adjective
Discribes a noun. Small, scary, and big.
Conjunction
Brings words together. For, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
Preposition
Tells time place or preposition. on, below, and under.
Interjection
Shows strong emotion. Wow, hey, and yeah.
Common noun
Not capitalized and not specific. ball, desk, store.
Proper noun
Capitalized and specific. Ms. Dulaney, Walmart, Nike.
Abstract nouns
A noun that you can’t see, touch, taste, hear, or smell. Love, hungry, fear.
Concrete Nouns
A noun that you can touch and see. Food, dog, desk.
Compound noun
Made up of more than one word. Grocery store, teacher desk, shopping cart.
