What is a noun?
Person, place, thing, animal, or idea. examples: dog, Kansas, house, Ava.
What is a Pronoun?
they, her, him, we. takes the place of a noun.
What is a verb?
walked, ran, skipped. action word.
What is an adverb?
when, where, how an action takes: quickly, soon, always.
What is an adjective?
describes a noun. examples: scary, big, small.
What is a conjunction?
brings words together. for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
What is a preposition?
tells time, place, or position. examples :on, below, under.
What is an interjection?
hey, ya, wow
What is a common noun?
not capitalized and not specific. Example: ball, desk, store.
What is a proper noun?
capitalized and specific. example: Ms. Dulaney, Walmart, nike.
What is an abstract noun?
a noun that you cant touch, see, taste, smell. example: love, hunger, fear.
What is a concrete noun?
a noun you can touch and see. example: food, dog desk.
What is a compound noun?
made up of more than one word. example grocery store, teacher desk, shopping cart.
