Noun
Kind of noun that refers to people, places, animals, or things in general.
Common Noun
A noun which specifically refers to a particular person, place, animal, or thing.
Proper Noun
This is a kind of noun that refers to people, places, animals, and things that exist physically and can be perceived through the five senses either directly or indirectly.
Concrete Noun
A noun that refers to ideas, qualities, emotions, and conditions which cannot be perceived through the five senses.
Abstract Noun
Kind of noun that refers to something that can be counted.
Count Noun
Kind of noun that refers to something that is uncountable.
Mass Noun
It is a noun that refers to groups of people or things.
Collective Noun
It is a word that substitutes a noun or a noun phrase.
Pronoun
It is a pronoun used in place of nouns referring to specific people or things.
Personal Pronoun
This is used to describe what a person does or what happens.
Verb
It is a kind of verb that expresses action.
Action Verb
A kind of verb that is used together with a main verb to form a verb phrase.
Auxiliary Verb
Kind of verb that serves as a connection between a subject and further information about that subject.
Linking Verb
It expresses the time of the verb.
Verb Tense
A word that describes a noun.
Adjective
Form of adjective used in cases where there are no differences between the two compared nouns.
Positive Form
Form of adjective used when comparing two nouns.
Comparative Form
A positive form of an adjective used when comparing three or more nouns.
Superlative Form
A word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
Adverb
Adverb which tells us more about the intensity of the verb in the sentence, in other words, they describe how much, or to what degree. It can also modify adjectives and other adverbs and are placed before the word they modify.
Adverb of Degree
Adverb which lets us know how often the verb occurs. Therefore they mostly modify verbs. These adverbs tend to appear right before the main verb in the sentence.
Adverb of Frequency
Adverb which tells us how, or in what manner, something was carried out. They mostly modify verbs and can often be found at the end of a clause. This category comprises the most common adverbs — the ones that end in -ly.
Adverb of Manner
Adverb which tells us more about where the verb took place. These tend to pop up after the main verb or direct object of the sentence.
Adverb of Place
Kind of adverb which details when the verb took place. We usually see these kinds of adverbs placed at the beginning or end of a sentence.
Adverb of Time
Adverb which declares that something is true or some equivalent expression or negative statement, judgment or a logical proposition.
Adverb of Affirmation or Negation
A word used to link nouns, pronouns, or phrases to other words within a sentence.
Preposition
A preposition that allows you to discuss a specific time period such as a date on the calendar, one of the days of the week, or the actual time something takes place.
Preposition of Time
A preposition which is used to refer to a place where something or someone is located.
Preposition of Place
A preposition used to show movement from one place to another. These prepositions are most often used with verbs of motion and are found after the verb.

A word used to join words or group of words in a sentence.
