Main word or group of words that tells who or what the sentence is about
Predicate
A verb or verb phrase that tells something about the subject
Compound subject
consists of 2 or more subjects that are joined together by a conjunction and have the same verb

Direct Object
A word group that receives action of verb or shows the result of a reaction. Tells whom or what after an action verb
Indirect Object
word or group of words that come between an action verb and a direct object. tells to whom or to what or for whom or for what the action of the verb is done.
Subject compliments
A word or word group that completes the meaning of a linking verb and identifies or modifies the subject
Predicate Nominative
the word or group of words that follows a linking verb and refers to the same person or thing as the subject of the verb
Predicate adjective
An adjective that follows a linking verb and modifies the subject of the verb
