A
The descending axis of the plant that takes in water with mineral salts and fixes the plant to the ground. It bears no leaves or flowers and grows downwards.

A
Small projections along the tips of the roots that are very thin. They aid in absorbing water and minerals from the soil to feed the whole plant.
