Coarse adjustment knob
Used for focusing on low power

Flat surface for holding the slide
Objective lens
One of three lenses for magnifying the specimen
Light source
Provides light
Base
Bottom of the microscope
Eyepiece
Part of the microscope for looking through, - contains a magnifying lens.
Fine adjustment
Used for focusing when on high power.
Arm
Connects the major parts of the microscope, and is used to help carry the microscope.
Diaphragm
Adjusts in size so more or less light can be applied to the specimen. Located under the stage.
Stage clips
Adjustment clips for holding the slide in place.
Revolving nosepiece
Rotates a different objective lens into place.
Diaphragm
Lever for adjusting the amount of light.
