What is the function of the penis?
To expel sperm into the vagina.
Which structure controls the climate of the testes?
The scrotum.
What does the semen contain, and why?
It contains sperm and other liquids which nourish, protect and mobilise the sperm.
What does the epididymis do?
It brings sperm to maturity.
What is the urethra?
The tube through which urine travels and sperm is ejaculated.
Which structure store urine?
The bladder.
Which tube transports mature sperm to the urethra?
The vas deferens.
Which structure produces sperm?
The testes.
What does the seminal vesicles do?
It produces sugar-rich fluid (fructose) that provides the sperm with a source of energy to help them move.
What does the prostate gland produce?
It produces and releases a fluid component of semen that nourishes and protects the sperm.
What does the Cowper’s Gland produce?
It produces a thick, clear mucus prior to ejaculation, which cleans and lubricates the urethra.
What does the ovary do?
It produces eggs and the hormones Oestrogen & Progesterone.
What is the function of the Fallopian Tube?
To carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus.
What does the uterus do?
To accept the fertilised ovum.
What is the Cervix?
The cervix connects the vagina to the uterus.
