Parts 2 Flashcards
Testable proposition or predictive statement about the possible outcome of a scientific researched study based on a particular property of a population, such as:
- presumed differences between groups on a particular variable
- The relationship between variables
Hypothesis
2 types of Hypothesis:
Null Hypothesis
Altervative Hypothesis
NO SIGNIFICANT RELATIONSHIP or
NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES between two or more variable.
NULL Hypothesis
A statement that describes that there is a relationship
between two or more variables in a study.
ALTERNATIVE Hypothesis
2 types of ALTERNATIVE Hypothesis:
Directional
Non-directional
Predicts a difference and specifies the
direction.
Directional
Predicts a difference but does not specify the direction.
Non-directional
This determines who benefits from the study.
Significance of the Study
Explains why a certain research is needed.
Significance of the Study
It is a justification of the importance of your work and impact on the research field.
Significance of the Study
It explains the extent to which the research will be explored.
SCOPE
It specifies the parameters within the study.
SCOPE
This aims to narrow the scope of the study.
DELIMITATION
It describes the boundaries of the study.
DELIMITATION
-technical terms in your study
