Dynamic partitions

striped

RAID 5
Maximum partition size is 2 TB
Basic partition
Main partition where Windows is stored
Can be marked as active to allow booting
Primary partition
Divided into 4 partitions
Each primary partition contains a boot sector
MBR
Required for 64bit Windows
Supports up to 128 partitions
supports up to 2 TB partitions
GPT
Has 3 primary and one extended partition
MBR
Basic
Area of a hard drive in Linux
Used as a page file is in Windows
Area is written to when RAM reaches capacity

Swap Partition
Type of formatting Rebuilds file systems Fast Partition is marked as 'formatted' and index of all files is deleted information is easily recoverable No scan for bad sectors
