Three processes on how to separate mixtures

Sedimentation:heavier substances sink
Decantation: Heterogeneous with distinct layers can be separated by slowly pouring the different layers out.
Distillation: separation by different boiling points.
Filtration: Put through a filter.

What is the particle theory?
A
Matter is made of particles, all particles of one substance are identical, Particles are separated by empty space, particles are attracted to each other.
